One would hope a network held in high regard like HBO maybe investigated with some journalistic tact. Especially a program headed up by Bryant Gumbel of “Gumbel 2 Gumbel” fame.
But at this point it seems like we will need another seperate investigative piece to investigate the Bush League and integrity eradicating tactics of HBO, focusing on a Stanley McClover interview with strong rumors of financial compensation (from someone in favor of such an interview), as well as strong denials of McClover’s claims by those closely involved in his recruitment. In addition it essentially appears HBO producers are going up and down the phone list calling former players, attempting to bait them into incriminating quotes by setting up false intentions for their story (when did they hire Thayer?).
What are the odds that overwhelming clear statements about the lack of foul play actually make it to air? Probably not likely. Agenda only material in this witch hunt, please.
HBO is the industry leader in narrative driven scripted drama.
Keep that in mind whenever this propaganda hit piece airs and don’t rest easily: Auburn isn’t the only school they are using their telemarketing tactics on.
